At Steele Health + Wellness centre I have been offering Practice Memberships for about a year and half now. In the beginning, the number memberships were limited (and for good reason, massive thanks for the patience of the early adopters!). This initial offering, in jargon speech, was the “beta” phase (aka. sketchy launch, parts falling off, harsh re-entry and controlled-crash-on-a-moving-object each time a member joined!). The end goal, though, has always been providing improving access to Wellness Health Care, Registered Massage Therapy treatments and Certified Personal Training sessions.

Q: Bonnita, tell us a little about yourself?
A: I'm a happily married wife and mother of 2. I have lived in the Woodstock area for most of my life and currently work in Cambridge as a Manufacturing Coordinator.
Q: How is it that you came to become a Practice Member at Steele Health + Wellness Centre?
A: I was experiencing a lot of neck and shoulder pain so I contacted my chiropractor to see if she could refer me to a massage therapist who specialized in Active Release. One of my co-workers suggested the technique and that's how I found Simon.
Q: Like most people these days, you have a busy life, how do you find time to take care of yourself?
A: As a Master Scheduler the one thing I've learned is that if you don't actually scheduled the time to do something I won't do it. Especially if it is something for myself. Being a member of Steele Health + Wellness is exactly what I needed to find. I schedule appointments not just for massage but for personal training as well it's a perfect combination!!
Q: Any unexpected benefits you have come across while receiving Massage Therapy treatments or Personal Training sessions?
A: The biggest benefit for me is having my own personal cheerleader. Simon provides awesome encouragement at every session which keeps me motivated and eager for the next training session.
Q: We know sustainable changes in stress management, fitness, health and lifestyle requires a longer term commitment. I know you are up to the challenge, in parting, can you share a little of what your longer term health and wellness vision looks like to our readers?
A: I have spent years and years doing this diet or that diet and always with short term success. Nothing I have ever been able to sustain. Now that I'm a little bit older and a little bit wiser I'm trying to focus on just feeling healthy and strong and worrying less about the number. Outside of my training sessions I keep active with all kinds of sports- volleyball, baseball, golf, ice skating, skiing........the key for me now is to keep moving and not to restrict my diet to the point where I feel like I'm missing out on enjoying life :)
